Dear readers,
Today, I want to share with you the purpose behind this blog and the journey that has brought me here: a journey of self-discovery of faith. This space is born from my desire to share my path of personal self-discovery, hoping that my experience can resonate with and help other women who, like me, struggle to truly know themselves.
My Struggle with Authenticity
However, this journey hasn’t been easy. For much of my life, I didn’t accept the fact that I was an introverted and sensitive person. I grew up surrounded by people who constantly criticized my sensitivity, which led me to deny who I really was. I dreamed of being “that girl” – extroverted, funny, outgoing, and confident in herself. But I wasn’t.
The Consequences of Denying My True Self
As a result of this struggle, for years, I dedicated myself to “masking” my true personality, trying to fit in at all costs. As a result, I couldn’t form genuine friendships, as people felt I wasn’t authentic. And they were right: I was pretending to be someone else just to be accepted. I went against my instincts in an attempt to fit in. And guess what? I didn’t.
This denial had profound consequences. I didn’t know how to identify my likes, my gifts, much less my purpose in life. I felt lost and disconnected from myself. In my early twenties, I became a Christian. Knowing who I am in the light of the Scriptures helped me to feel loved and appreciated. But again, the same dilemma arose. How can I serve others? What are my gifts? What is my purpose? How can I expand the Kingdom of God?
Discovering My True Self in Christ
Despite these difficulties, it was a long and challenging process, but over time, I began to accept who I really am. I could identify my gifts and find a way to serve others and discover my purpose in life. This journey of self-acceptance and self-discovery took me years of inner work, but I can say with certainty that every step was worth it. The Lord was guiding me and helping me to find the answers I was looking for. He guided me to find the journey of self-discovery of faith.
Inviting You on This Journey
Having experienced this transformation, now, I’ve decided to share my experience through this blog with the aim of helping other women who, like me in the past, don’t know themselves. I’ll create a route for you to follow so you don’t have to feel alone in your journey. You are not alone. I’ll be that big sister giving you guidance and advice.
Exploring Our Gifts and Purpose Together
Moving forward, on these pages, we’ll explore who we are and how we can use our gifts and strengths to advance God’s Kingdom. I don’t want us to be like the unfaithful servant in the parable of Matthew 25, but rather to discover and make the most of the talents God has given us.
In conclusion, I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. If you’re interested in receiving updates about new posts, I encourage you to subscribe to our mailing list. I’ll be sharing two posts per week, full of reflections, practical advice, and biblical perspectives to help you discover your true self and your purpose in Christ.
So, I hope you’ll join this community of women in search of authenticity and divine purpose!
With love,
Daniela Jazmin
